Tractor accident survivor plans to send “thank yous” to all donors
Milwaukee, Wis. — August 24, 2015 — The family of Jason Pansier, the 37-year-old Brown County man who received a remarkable 250 units of blood after being critically injured in a tractor rollover on July 8, is partnering with BloodCenter of Wisconsin to encourage blood donors to attend the 14th annual Big League Blood Drive. The drive will be held Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Tommy Thompson Center at Wisconsin State Fair Park. Jason Pansier was injured in an accident in the Town of Ledgeview when the tractor he was driving rolled over an embankment and landed upside-down. Pansier, who was trapped under the tractor for nearly two hours, sustained numerous injuries and remains hospitalized.
Personal thanks from Jason
Because of their deep gratitude to the many blood donors it took to save Pansier’s life, several family members will attend the drive during the morning of Wednesday, August 26. In addition, Jason Pansier has committed to writing and sending personal thank-you notes to everyone who donates during the Big League Blood Drive.
“Jason has received more than 250 units of blood products and underwent several surgeries,” Pansier’s family said. “If able to donate blood, please consider donating in honor of Jason Pansier. It truly has proven to save lives.”
Donors to receive Brewers ticket vouchers
As a small token of gratitude for their life-saving gifts, all attempting donors will receive a voucher for two tickets to one of the following Milwaukee Brewers games:
• Thursday, September 3, vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:20 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 15, vs. St. Louis Cardinals, 7:10 p.m.
Free parking will be provided, as well as tailgate-style refreshments. Blood donors are invited to take advantage of BloodCenter’s complimentary child care services —where children will be entertained with fun games and activities, offering parents a relaxing blood donation experience.
The Big League Blood Drive is held each year in advance of the Labor Day holiday weekend, when donations decline while the need for blood tends to increase. BloodCenter hopes to see more than 1,200 donors during the drive to ensure enough blood is available for patients in need.

Anyone 16 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. Parental consent is required for 16-year-olds to donate. The entire process takes about an hour.
