Salvation Army bell ringing passes goal for 2011 season

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army reports total bell ringing funds as of Dec. 24 at $404,984.01 without the kettles of Christmas Eve from Mukwonago (projecting about $2,500). With ketle left on stands after Christmast the total could potentially be nearly $410,000, according to a news release from  Carol Lemirand (Major Carol), Salvation Army Corps Officer, which surpasses the bell ringing goal of $400,000.

"We owe so much gratitude to the thousands of volunteers, our faithful paid bell ringers who filled in when volunteers weren't available, the media, our prayer warriors and to the best staff of any Salvation Army Corps," said Lemirand in the news release. "This is only one of many big projects during Christmas and we heard laughter, shared tears with some of our program participants, sighed when we needed to "pull back" a moment and then everyone went full speed ahead to accomplish the mission of affecting the lives of "others"  every day."
