About 300 customers in the Delafield area remain without power due to storms with high winds that rolled through the area last night and this morning.

Barry McNulty, spokesperson for WE Energies, said about 3,000 customers were without power from an area stretching from the Waukesha/Delafield area north to the Town of Erin.
McNulty also said a telephone wire and not an electrical wire, as had been reported, fell onto I-94 near Highway C in the City of Delafield at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday. The wire led to the closure of the freeway for about an hour.

A National Weather Service wind advisory for much of the region is in effect until 7 p.m. Sustained northwest winds from 25 to 40 mph and gusts up to 50 mph are being forecast.
