With the Menomonee Falls dominating play in the first half, Mother Nature decided to step in. The season-opening football game at Oconomowoc High School was suspended by the officials with the Indians leading the Raccoons 42-7 at intermission.

Consistent Lightning filled the skys to the north and west of Oconomowoc as halftime began,

Menomonee Falls senior running back Cole Myhra was off to an outstanding start, scoring five touchdowns.

Oconomowoc's touchdown was on a pass play. Junior quarterback Garrett Stocke found senior Brad Zastrow in the back of the end zone in the second quarter. The touchdown was set up by a 71-yard pass from Stocke to senior wide receiver Paul Williams.

"You can't start playing until after the last lightning seen has stopped for 30 minutes, it doesn't matter where it is or how far off it is," referee Paul Eckert said. "It's a very strick rule."
