Oconomowoc Brennan's ripe for the picking

Store employees have been busy stocking the specialty foods, wines, cheeses and bounty of produce for the Brennan's Marketplace at Highways 67 and B that is set to open today. The store will anchor a 116-acre development that will have multi-tenant buildings.

Unique to this store at 1670 Old School House Road, are a rain water recovery system, which is used to water plants inside and outside the store, and two solar trackers, which use the sun’s rays to produce energy.

This was the first time solar panels and a rain recovery system, installed by Robert’s Plumbing in Watertown, were used at a Brennan’s, which has several locations including a store in Brookfield. The market sells specialty foods, produce, wine and other food in an upscale quality grocery store atmosphere.

Accroding to brennansmarket.com, fresh fruit and vegetables will be arriving, just in time for the opening. "You can count on Brennan’s famous Chin Drippin’ Peaches, plums, nectarines, juicy melons and jumbo Bing cherries," the Web site reads.
