Waukesha County Technical College President Barbara Prindiville will retire at the end of the month after serving eight years as president.

Prindiville, who has 34 years of administrative leadership and teaching experience within the Wisconsin Technical College System, said in a letter to WCTC staff last week that she was proud of what they accomplished together on behalf of students, staff and community.

"There comes a time for each of us to reflect upon our personal priorities and goals in order to begin the next chapter of our lives," Prindiville wrote in her letter. "It is with this consideration in mind that I announce my retirement effective July 31, 2014."

The WCTC District Board is expected to accept her notice of retirement at a meeting this week, and will begin discussing the process and timeline for a presidential search.

An interim president will be appointed prior to Prindiville's retirement.
