A new Sendik's Food Markets store is set to open Thursday in Hartland.

The Balistreri owned and operated store will be the 12th for the local chain. It will be located at 600 Hartbrook Drive near the eastern end of the newly named Sendik's Hartland Plaza, the company said.

The store will employ about 100 people.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m., weather permitting. The public is invited.

Outpost Natural Food Cooperative also recently opened a new store. On Monday, Outpost opened at 7590 W. Mequon Road in Mequon.

The new store is Outpost's first location outside of Milwaukee County, the company said.
