House fire in Town of Ottawa leaves one dead, one injured
A house fire early Sunday in the Town of Ottawa left one person dead and another injured, authorities said.
According to a news release from Lt. Paul J. Beal of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department:
The sheriff's department and the North Prairie Fire Department, assisted by other area emergency departments, responded shortly after 1 a.m. to a residential fire at S45-W34481 Rue Parc.
One person who escaped from the fire told deputies that another person was still inside the house. Two deputies entered the house and found a man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of relatives.
The other person from the residence was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the fire.
Authorities said the fire started in a bedroom and remained contained in that area. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
