Person questioned in groping attack on teen girl in Wales

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department says it is questioning someone in the case of a stranger who touched a 14-year-old girl inappropriately Monday afternoon.

The girl was walking on N. Elias St. between Oakcrest Drive and Main St. in Wales about 3:45 p.m. when she was approached on foot by the man, who then touched her, according to a news release.

The girl was able to run to safety and was not injured, while the suspect fled on foot toward Oakcrest Drive. No weapons were involved.

About 6 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff's department received information leading to a person described as a person of interest. Investigators were conducting interviews as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and were no longer looking for a suspect, according to an updated news release.
