Churches stream Nye-Ham debate on evolution, creationism

A number of Christian churches around the state, including at least three in the Milwaukee area, will be streaming tonight's debate between Bill Nye "The Science Guy" and bestselling Christian author Ken Ham on evolution and creationism.
The sold-out debate, which is being moderated by CNN's Tom Forman, will be telecast from Ham's Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky.
It's a face-off of sorts between an agnostic science educator who has criticized the teaching of creationism in schools and a creation apologist who argues that the theory of evolution is flawed and students should be able to hear and evaluate challenges to it.
The debate begins at 6 p.m. central time. Local churches showing the showdown include Spring Creek Church, N35 W22000 Capitol Drive in Pewaukee, Brookside Baptist Church, 4470 Pilgrim Road in Brookfield; and Trinity Baptist School, 20 E. Arndt St. in Fond du Lac. Jay Seegert, co-founder the local Creation Education Center, will be on hand at Spring Creek for questions afterward.
According to the Pew Research Center, a majority of Americans, 60% believe that humans evolved over time. But 33%, a full third of the population believe they existed in their current form from the beginning of time.
