DNR board approves acquisition along Oconomowoc River
The Natural Resources Board on Wednesday approved, on a 7-0 vote, the purchase of 140 acres in the Town of Erin for land that will become part of the Loew Lake unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
The Department of Natural Resources will buy the parcel with funds from the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Fund. The price: $720,000, which was below appraisals.
The land is owned by Renotta and Robert Thompson and includes 1,275 feet along the Oconomowoc River.
The Journal Sentinel’s Don Behm described the project in a story earlier this week.
