A former Oconomowoc man is back in Waukesha County, jailed on charges he threatened the district attorney and a court commissioner.

Adam David Kane, 38, who had been living in Seattle and now lists an Indiana address, sent several angry, obscenity-laced and specific emails to District Attorney Brad Schimel and Court Commissioner Linda Georgeson in May, according to the criminal complaint.

He was charged in early June with threatening a judge with bodily harm, a felony, and two misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a computer communication system. He was arrested this week in Montana on a Wisconsin warrant.

Kane's displeasure seemed to stem from his arrest last year on what turned out to be false accusations by his wife that he had threatened her with a knife. She told police she was trying to force Kane into getting some mental health treatment.

He was jailed for four days before his release, according to the threatening emails cited in the criminal complaint. His wife was given a municipal citation for providing false information to authorities.

In May, she sought a restraining order against Kane after he contacted her via email in April. Georgeson granted an injunction against Kane, who was living in Seattle and did not appear at a hearing.

The threatening emails to Georgeson and Schimel started soon after. According to the complaint, Kane threatened to sexually assault Schimel and kill Georgeson if he saw them. In one email, it charges, Kane wrote, "Now, I have nothing to lose and am waiting for my opportunity to go Hannibal Lector on your ass," referring to the serial-killer character Hannibal Lecter in the movie "The Silence of the Lambs."

Kane is being held on $25,000 bail. His next court hearing is set for Sept. 1.
